Tornado Warning, Weather spotter, Funnel Cloud...what do these words have in common?
They are words that I thought I would probably never hear again on a news report once we moved from Kansas to Idaho.
Today as I was catching up on blogs and emails I had the TV on so I could listen to a basketball game in the background...the game really caught my attention when I heard the local meteorologist break in to say that we were under a tornado warning and that a tornado had been spotted in the sky near Emmett ( a town about 30 miles north) by a trained weather spotter.
What...
Breaking into television coverage in Kansas due to the weather is an almost daily thing especially during the spring, but it never (never say, never) almost never happens here in Idaho. It is just funny to sit here and see/ listen to the weather we are having right now...thunder/lightning, heavy rain, hail, strong winds (strong enough to blow Ryan's grill off the patio).
I love Idaho, but the weather today makes me think...
There's no place like home...

*** Just a side note, by the time I finished typing this, the rain, hail, and winds had stopped. It rains for about 5 minutes here and everyone thinks it has "rained"...no that is just a sprinkle..."Raining" is when it rains from 8 a.m. until 8 p.m. with no stopping...nothing like Kansas/Midwest rains...

Nothing like a good ol' torndado to make you feel at home. :) At least a funnel cloud was all they spotted and nothing else. Welcome to Idaho where in the course of 10 minutes you can experience every season.
Just letting you know that we are thinking of you. I hope you are doing alright. Hang in there!
